What is your return policy?

We guarantee you’ll rest easy knowing your metal gear is well protected! If your bag isn’t performing as expected, let us know and we’ll work with you to make it right. We manufacture our bags onsite, and our engineers are here to troubleshoot any technical difficulties.

Our number one mission is to save your metal equipment from corrosion. With your gear safely stored away, you can forget about rust and move on to life’s next adventure.

We guarantee our bags are free from any defects caused by faulty workmanship and/or materials when they leave our facility. In the rare case that we suspect a manufacturing defect, we’ll replace or repair your bag right away. Proof of purchase is required, please save your receipt. We may ask for photos or a return of the product.

When you use our bags you assume responsibility for making sure your metal object is cleaned in accordance to the standards set by the object’s manufacturer, and for storing your object and Bluguard VCI bag in a reasonable environment (see our suggested storage environment). VCI’s are attracted to clean, bare metal, and some stages of corrosion are invisible to the naked eye. We recommend ensuring very valuable metal items.

Where should I store my bags and metal objects?

For best results store your metal gear and equipment away from direct sunlight. Bluguard VCI bags are safe for use in temperatures -40˚F to 140˚F, but somewhere cool and dry is best.

Not intended as carry bags. Avoid excessive handling. Keep away from sharp objects that could puncture the bag, and use extra care when inserting sharp items.

How long does anti-corrosion protection last when using Bluguard VCI® anti-corrosion bags?

The VCI anti-corrosion chemistry can last between 5 and 20 years depending on how often the bag is open and closed. Opening the bag a few times within a month can yield at least 5 years, while opening it less frequently (a few times a year or less) can yield up to 20 years of protection.

Can I use additional desiccant packs in the bag or will that interfere with the normal workings of the chemicals in the bag?

Bluguard VCI® storage bags don't require additional desiccant packs; however, using them won't negatively affect the process.

If I'm placing a firearm in a Bluguard VCI® storage bag, do I need to clean it first?

Yes. Firearms should always be cleaned and locked per the manufacturer’s specifications before placing in a Bluguard VCI bag. Intermittent cleaning is not necessary during storage unless the firearm is removed from the bag and fired or mishandled. Because the protective VCI molecules dissipate from the firearm as soon as it is removed from the bag, a properly stored firearm requires no cleaning before additional use. Always allow time for recently used firearms to cool before placing them back in the bag.

Will the wood and plastic parts on my firearm be safe inside a Bluguard VCI® storage bag?

Yes. VCI molecules are only attracted to metals, and are completely harmless to other firearm materials like wood, synthetic stocks or grips, optics, lights, and exotic finishes.

Can I apply oil before placing my metal items in the bag?

You can, but it's not necessary. Oil can prevent rust, but it will also impede the VCI molecules from reaching the bare metal and doing their job.

Will my storage bag tear or rip during normal use?

Our bags are made from durable, multi-layer, puncture and tear resistant material. When handled properly, and used as a storage and preservation bag, they will not rip or tear. Please note, Bluguard VCI® bags are not field-use bags, and if they are subjected to rough handling, punctures or tears can occur. Always allow time for recently used firearms to cool before placing them back in the bag.

Will my object fit in the bag?

We recommend measuring the outer dimensions of your object before making a purchase. If you were to place a cardboard box over the top of your firearm, what would the length and width of the box be? Our bags generally fit the type of gun listed; however, it is important to take your own measurements to check for proper fit.

Why can’t I open the Velcro® seal?

Our Velcro series was created as an option for those who need a secure storage system that they can frequently reuse. We use industrial strength Velcro to achieve this, ensuring optimal metal protection. The hook and loop strength is much greater on this seal than it is on common velcro because a weaker hook and loop wouldn’t provide an appropriate barrier to Oxygen.

We recommend peeling apart the bag from the center of the Velcro strip, and gently pulling apart from there. Firmly press the hook and loop sides together to close.

Why can’t I open the zipper on the vacuum seal bag?

Our vacuum seal bags were created as an option for those who need an airtight and watertight storage system for long term storage that is easily reused. We use industrial strength zippers to achieve this, ensuring optimal metal protection. The zipper strength is much greater on these bags than it is on common zip closure baggies because a weaker seal wouldn’t provide an appropriate barrier to oxygen and moisture vapor.

We recommend peeling apart the bag from the center of the zipper, and gently pulling apart from there. Firmly press to close the zipper, making sure both tracks engage.

Can I fold the bag?

Yes, carefully. In fact, most bags will arrive folded. Barrier materials are durable when handled with care. They are vulnerable to punctures from sharp objects, so always be cautious while folding a bag with a firearm inside. You can use a strong tape (like duct tape) to secure the fold in place if you are folding a bag to fit a smaller firearm.

Should I store a  pistol in it’s treated gun sock within the storage bag?

No. The pistol should be stored within the bag, without any other protective packaging like a gun sock.

Do I need to remove accessories/scopes?

No, it’s safe to keep your scope on a gun being placed in our bags, so long as it fits properly. VCI molecules are only attracted to metals, and are harmless to other materials like wood, synthetic stocks or grips, optics, lights, and exotic finishes.

Please measure the outer dimensions of your firearm with scopes before making a purchase. If you were to place a cardboard box over the top of your firearm, what would the length and width of the box be? Our bags generally fit the type of gun listed; however, it is important to take your own measurements to check for proper fit.
